School Start Up

September 2 - 5 2025 

Welcome back to all of our Brent Kennedy students and families! A special welcome to students joining us for the first time. We are excited that you are here and look forward to welcoming you into the Brent Kennedy School Community! 

First Day of School : September 2 2025 

• Students will return to their previous homeroom class on the first day of school. For example, if your child was in Mrs. Marken’s class last year, they will line up and go to Mrs. Marken’s class on the first day. 

• If you are new to BKE please meet at the front doors of the school.

• Dismissal will be 3 hours early at 11:35 am and busses will also run 3 hours early.

• Kindergarten will begin on Wednesday September 3 and Thursday September 4 with family meetings, as per email sent home to families in June.

September 3 2025

• Students will line up for their homeroom class from last year, for morning attendance. 

• After attendance, last years teacher will bring students to their new classroom to meet their new teacher. 

• Regular dismissal at 2:35pm.

Please Note: Class lists may be in flux for the first 2 weeks of school due to late registrations and/or withdrawals. Please allow for flexibility within these first 2 weeks for some potential adjustments to class placements. 

Bell Schedule for the 2025/2026 school year: 

• 8:35 – Start of Day

• 10:20-10:40 – Morning Recess

• 12:20-1:00 – Lunch Recess

• 2:35 – Dismissal

The school office will be open from 7:45 – 3:15 pm, Monday – Friday, excluding holidays.
