On March 17, the last day before Spring Break, we held another school dance which was hugely successful!  It’s a great school spirit event that brings all of us together.

This month, the Grade 4 students will be completing the Student Learning Survey.  Like FSAs, this information is used by the Ministry of Education, School District 8 and Brent Kennedy Elementary. It helps provide information that guides our teaching and helps inform best practice in our school.  The information that the students provide is very valuable and is kept anonymous and confidential.

A reminder from the PAC that the next meeting will be April 11.  Further, the Georama Flower Fundraiser forms and payment are due on April 13.

The Hot Lunch will be offered every other Thursday starting this week.  Please sign up if you haven’t already done so.

A friendly reminder that there are several non-instructional days this month.  April 7 and 10 are days off for Easter for both staff and students.  April 17 is a Professional Development Day for teachers and school staff.  School is not in session that day.

Early dismissal days are April 26/27 (one hour early at 1:30 p.m.).  This provides an opportunity for teachers to meet and/or connect with parents regarding your child’s point of progress.  Letters home, phone calls, student led conferences, emails etc are multiple ways in which your child’s teacher will connect with you this month.

Just a reminder to keep your children home if they are sick and please ensure that your contact information, including emergency contact information, is accurate so that someone is able to come pick up your child in a timely manner, if needed. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

We are still accepting Kindergarten registrations.  If you know of someone whose child is turning 5 by December 31, 2023, please have them visit the school to register.

It’s wonderful to be back with the students!  Wishing you all a great week!

Mrs. Kooznetsoff

Principal, Brent Kennedy Elementary
