Principal's Blog for January 23

Good Morning Brent Kennedy Families,

My apologies for not posting on Friday as I was home sick.  We had many staff and students away last week and I continue to encourage you to keep your child home if they are sick.  We are trying to avoid the spread of germs as much as possible.

This week we continue with winter activities.  Today the intermediate students are going skiing and on Thursday, Ms. Koorbatoff and Ms. Long’s classes are going skating in Castlegar.

We are looking for a few extra winter items to keep as spares like snowpants and mitts, in particular.  This includes both small and larger sizes.  As the weather warms up, it gets quite wet in the playground and students often need spares.  Also, if you have any leggings or jogging pants, we will take those as well.

Also a friendly reminder that report cards will be going out on the parent portal on January 31.  Please make sure that you are receiving school emails.  If you are, you will be able to access the parent portal.  Information on how to access the portal will be sent out today.  Try to familiarize yourself with it and ensure you have access before the reports are published.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office.

Special thanks to Corinne Grubba who has helped size students’ feet for both cross country skis and skates.  We cannot provide these programs without the help from our BK parents and community!
