Principal's Blog for March 10
Good Morning BK Families,
It's hard to believe that we are still officially in Winter considering the warm temperatures we have been receiving and will continue to receive over the next couple of weeks! Unfortunately, these warmer temperatures have created a bit of a mud pit in our field and school grounds. Work continues on the septic system and once I receive an update, I will pass it along to families. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
This week, students will be listening to a storyteller who will be visiting our school. Last week, our students enjoyed a performance by the Stringtones. We enjoy having different acts visit our school. This week will be holding another fire drill as well as an assembly to acknowledge our March birthdays. Student leaders will also be providing activities for students outside during the breaks so they have something to do. So far, I am proud of the work they are doing and the skills they are acquiring as students.
Friday is our last day of school before the two-week Spring Break. The school will be closed and will re-open for classes on Tuesday, April 2. It looks like the weather will be nice so whether you are traveling or staying home, I hope you have a restful and enjoyable break.
Just a friendly reminder that there is a PAC meeting tomorrow night from 5:30-7:30 in the library. This week, Grade 4 students will be completing the Middle Years Development Index, or MDI, which is another survey prepared by the Ministry of Education. The data is then used to inform best practice in schools in the areas of need or concern.
Wishing you all a wonderful week!
