Lest We Forget.....

This is the message that we send to all of those who fought for our freedom.  A special thanks goes out to Mrs. Johnson's class for leading the Remembrance Day assembly yesterday.  Although it is not a "celebration", it is a time for our students to come together to reflect on the historical significance in a way they can understand.

This coming Monday is our PAC meeting.  It will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will be held in the library.  Child-minding services are available should you require them.  This will be the first PAC meeting with our new executive.  Lots of information to be shared!

This coming Wednesday and Thursday, we will have early dismissal at 1:30 p.m.  This is time set aside for teachers to communicate with parents regarding the points of progress in their child's learning.  This may be via telephone, email, in person, or other means.

The staff and students have begun preparations for the Christmas Concert which will be held on December 14 and 15 (two showings, but please only come to one).  More details will be sent out as we get closer to the date.

Thank to you those parents who are helping with the Hot Lunch and Hungry Kids Programs.  These are such important initiatives that support all of our students.

At our latest staff meeting, we have begun talking about winter activities.  Once the logistics have been worked out, you will be receiving information from your child's teacher.  We have a shortage of bus drivers this year so it can become quite complex.  We look forward to offering a variety of activities to our students.

If you are experiencing hardship of any kind, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.  We have the means to help and do not want students going without.  This information is kept confidential.

Our school is in the initial stages of a recycling program.  Special thanks to Mrs. Koorbatoff and Ms. Long for heading this up.  Also, a big thank you to Lana Klein who has offered to pick up the recycling from the school.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call the school and speak to either myself or your child's teacher.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Kooz
