Parent and Family Weekly Update

December 16 - 20 2024

Here we go, into the final week of school before staff and students enter their winter break!

It seems like just yesterday we had our first day of school and in the blink of an eye, we are already entering into this holiday season! It’s been a joy to see our students learning, growing, and creating meaningful connections within our school community since the beginning of the school year in September.

This time of year is meaningful and special for many reasons. It’s an opportunity to pause, cherish time with loved ones, and celebrate the traditions that bring us together. At school, we’ve enjoyed watching the festive spirit shine through in our classrooms, hallways, and special activities. With the upcoming Christmas concert, the energy and enthusiasm of our students has been emanating throughout the school. As it is my first Christmas season at Brent Kennedy, I have felt privileged and filled with joy to partake in and witness the Christmas excitement and energy that is unique to this school community. One of the special little highlights has been seeing the children so excited to find the BK “Elf on the Shelf” each morning! It’s a treat to share in their excitement in finding out where our Elf, Jingles, has put himself overnight!

The photo in this week’s newsletter features our Christmas Carolers who sang Christmas songs for the seniors at the Slocan Park Community Hall. This special outing was enjoyed by all who participated, especially the many seniors who sang along with our Brent Kennedy students!

For more information about the upcoming concert, feel free to check out the school website, under Upcoming Events, on the homepage.
