Principal's Weekly Update! June 10-14 2024
Brent Kennedy Elementary School
Parent and Family Weekly Update
June 10 - 14
Hello all Brent Kennedy parents, families and caregivers,
We have lots of fun year end outings coming up starting Monday! If parents have questions about class outings and trip details, or would like additional information, please contact your child’s teacher.
It is such a treat to be able to enjoy this beautiful, almost-summer sunshine, on the playground areas lately! We had our June Celebration Assembly this past week on Friday to celebrate the June birthdays in our school! We also celebrated and acknowledged the school track team, the talent show participants, and all students who continually strive to be their best at school both in and out of the classroom! We want to ensure that we finish off the year with students continuing to show respect and responsibility. July and August birthdays will be celebrated at the June 26th Celebration Assembly.
At Brent Kennedy, students are to leave all technology at home or in their backpack for the duration of the school day. This includes time spent on the bus or playground after class dismissal. The Brent Kennedy school community strives to provide a learning environment where students are free from the use of technology outside of structured classroom learning activities, in order to foster a culture rich with social interactions and spontaneous creativity and play. The presence of electronic devices often detracts from the kind of play and social interaction that we promote at school. Therefore, we ask that electronic games, electronic devices, and cell phones stay at home unless deemed appropriate by school staff.
Thank you to all families for your continued support, communication and feedback. 😊
Please see below for some new announcements for parents and students.
