Parent and Family Weekly Update 

June 25 2026 : Summer Break 

Thank you to all of our students, staff and families for another awesome year at Brent Kennedy!

When students return to school in the fall, they will be greeted with two beautiful murals on our school, one of which will represent our BK PATH! (Peacefulness, Thoughtfulness, Accountability, Humility)

This week’s newsletter contains information about the first week of school so that families know what that looks like heading into the summer. 

As we look ahead to next school year, we say farewell to a few wonderful members of the Brent Kennedy Staff. 

Thank you to Crystal Robinson who served in a term position this past school year. 

Thank you and farewell to Dee Bell, and Therese Marken. Therese will be retiring from her career as a Kindergarten teacher at Brent Kennedy. 

We wish them all the best!

First Day of School : September 8 2026

• Students will return to their previous homeroom class on the first day of school. For example, if your child is CURRENTLY in Mrs. Marken’s class last year, they will line up and go to Mrs. Marken’s class on the first day.

• Dismissal will be 3 hours early at 11:35 am and busses will also run 3 hours early.

• Kindergarten will begin on Wednesday September 9 and Thursday September 10 with family meetings, as per email sent home to families.

September 9 2026

• Students will line up for their homeroom class from last year, for morning attendance.

• After attendance, last years teacher will bring students to their new classroom to meet their new teacher.

• Regular dismissal at 2:35pm.

Please Note: Class lists may be in flux for the first 2 weeks of school due to late registrations and/or withdrawals. Please allow for flexibility within these first 2 weeks for some potential adjustments to class placements.
