Parent and Family Weekly Update

May 13 - 17

Hello all Brent Kennedy parents, families and caregivers,

I hope that you all were able to enjoy some of the gorgeous sunshine that we had this past weekend!

There are many exciting things happening at the school this spring. these include special academic activities such as the life sized human body projects happening in the intermediate classrooms, as well as fun hands-on soap making and art in the primary classrooms. In addition to these classroom activities, students were treated to a special author visit this past week, featuring author, writer and presenter, Tanya Lloyd Kyi. Thank you to the Elephant Mountain Literary Festival and the Brent Kennedy PAC for helping to support this author presentation for our classrooms.

As we continue to build a culture of care and community at Brent Kennedy, parents can be assured that I will continue to involve and inform parents/legal guardians of information concerning their child at school. Communication from parents and families is also encouraged, to ensure that issues are addressed in a timely manner so that students feel safe and supported.

Included in this week’s newsletter under Student Announcements is an updated lunchtime intermural sport schedule starting May 20th. There are added sporting opportunities for primary and intermediate grade levels.

Announcements for parents and students are below, as well as information around upcoming dates.
