We had an action packed week ending with Halloween celebrations at school on Friday! Students enjoyed a costume parade through the school with a Costume Show and school dance. 

Thanks to the PAC for providing Halloween popcorn for our kids on Friday!

• Grade 5/6 Leadership Club : Meeting on Friday at long recess

• Quiet recess activities in the AbEd Room on Tuesday and Wednesday (short and long recess). All are welcome. 

• Intermediate Hockey : Wednesday at long recess

• Volleyball Practice : Tuesday and Thursday at long recess. 

• Primary Soccer : Friday at long recess

Peanut Free

Reminder for families to please refrain from sending peanuts or peanut products to school. 

Visitor Information Reminders

In an effort to keep our school secure and consistent with visitor protocols : when visiting the school, please enter through the main doors and check in at the office. If you are staying, please sign in and take a visitor pass. If you are dropping off or delivering a student message, please wait at the office and Elaine will deliver the message or item to the classroom. Thank you!

Student Fees - $45 / student

Payment can be made online @ https://bkes.sd8.bc.ca/pay OR via cash / cheque to your child's teacher.

The $45 student fee covers the cost of consumable supplies. Parents do not need to purchase their own school supplies.

  • If you are attending class trips or are a parent volunteer in another capacity within the school, please complete the requirements found on the website and turn forms into the school office. Thank you! (Forms must be completed in full, to have the application accepted).
  • All Parent Volunteer Packages and Criminal Record Checks (CRC) must be completed ANNUALLY.
  • If you volunteer at two schools, only one Application and CRC needs to be completed for both. 

Contacting the office : Please be as detailed as possible with notes, emails and office phone calls and include: 

• Students First and Last name
  
  • Homeroom teacher
  • Name of bus route (if applicable) 
  • Any other details pertaining to your question or request. 

  • If you have arranged an alternate pickup arrangement for the day, please let your child’s teacher know. 

     

After School Plans 

• Please make after school plans with your child prior to them leaving for school so that they know where they are going at dismissal.  This may include play dates, extracurricular activities and alternative pick up arrangements.

• Avoiding last minute changes after the start of the school day ensures student safety by avoiding the risk of confusion, missed communication, and unsafe situations. Thanks for your teamwork on this.
