Congratulations to all of our Brent Kennedy Cross Country runners who participated in the annual Lakeside Park Meet on October 17th! We are so proud of the effort, teamwork, and positive spirit shown by our students. A big thank-you as well to the staff who supported and accompanied our runners. Your encouragement and commitment make these opportunities possible.

As we move through October, we’re grateful for the continued support of our families and school community. Your partnership plays an essential role in helping our students grow, learn, and thrive every day. Announcements for Parents:

 Peacefulness, Accountability, Thoughtfulness, and Humility. 

Families, feel free to talk about these values at home as well, and to notice and celebrate when your child demonstrates them in their daily life.

 

  • Please note the Halloween Expectations letter that went home with students this week. 

  • Grade 4 FSA begins next week. Schedule sent to grade 4 families. 

  • Outstanding Student Verification Reports : Please sign and return your student verification form, if you have not already. Please contact the school office if you have any questions.

Announcements for Students:

  • Grade 5/6 Volleyball starts next week with practice on Tuesday and Thursday at lunch recess. All grade 5/6 students are welcome to join!

 

  • Grade 2,3,4 Soccer on Friday’s 

     

Still Out There: 

  • Contacting the office : Please be as detailed as possible with notes, emails and office phone calls and include:
    • Students First and Last name
    • Homeroom teacher
    • Name of bus route (if applicable)
    • Any other details pertaining to your question or request. THANK YOU!
    • If you have arranged an alternate pickup arrangement for the day, please let your child’s teacher know. 

       

  • Visitor Sign In Sheet: There is a visitor sign in sheet at the main office. Please be sure to use the sign in sheet to check in and check out when visiting the school and indicate the purpose of your visit. This is to ensure that we know who is in the school at all times, in case of emergency or evacuation. Thank you!!

  • The SD8 Student Accident Insurance webpage for families can be found here. To find this, go to the Students and Families page on the SD8 website.

  

  • Reaching the Principal: For urgent or time sensitive matters, please call the school office to arrange a phone call or appointment. Due to the high volume of emails received each day, email is welcome for non-urgent matters, and I will aim to reply within 3 business days.

 

  • Parent Volunteer Information : Parent Volunteer Information Page
    • AP 2303 : Volunteers
    • If you are attending class trips or are a parent volunteer in another capacity within the school, please complete the requirements found on the website and turn forms into the school office. Thank you! (Forms must be completed in full, to have the application accepted).
    • All Parent Volunteer Packages and Criminal Record Checks (CRC) must be completed ANNUALLY.
    • If you volunteer at two schools, only one Application and CRC needs to be completed for both.
