Brent Kennedy Elementary School

Parent and Family Weekly Update

October 21 - October 25 2024

It was great to see so many families in and out of the school this week for classroom open houses! It’s special and sweet to hear the kids get so excited about being able to show their parents their classroom and what they have been working on at school. The excitement about this was definitely high this week!

Congratulations to all our Brent Kennedy Elementary school XC Runners who participated in the XC running meet at Lakeside Park on Friday!

Volleyball club (grade 5/6), soccer club and coding club are now underway, in addition to leadership club which is already up and running. Students can talk to Ms. Klassen or their classroom teacher for more information!

Halloween is coming up next Thursday! Please see the letter attached to the parent email, as a reminder of appropriate dress when choosing your child’s costume for school. On Halloween, there will be a costume parade starting at 9:00 followed by a school dance in the gym until 10:00 am. All classes will participate.

This coming Friday, October 25, is the annual Provincial Professional Development Day for school staff. Classes are not in session on this day. Staff will choose from a variety of ProD offerings throughout the district, depending on their individual professional learning goals and interests.
