Brent Kennedy Elementary School
Parent and Family Weekly Update
September 16-20 2024
The sunshine and mostly clear skies have been a real blessing to us this week! The great, end of summer weather has allowed the children to take full advantage of the outdoor areas at the school and engage with their peers in play. Students have sharpened their pencils and are getting right to business in classrooms this week with a variety of learning activities from Math and Science to Art and English!
The week of September 16th is a short week for students.
Teachers and staff will be engaging in the annual School Planning Day on September 20th. Planning Day is focused on looking at student growth and achievement in the areas of literacy, numeracy and social/emotional learning. We look at various sources of data to help guide our discussion around what is working for our students as shown in the data, and how we can improve to better support all learners. Planning day allows us to focus on strategies that we as a school team can use to best support students to prosper and achieve success at school.
Teachers have all sent their welcome letters home to families. Thank you to parents for your continued support and communication! There are some new and some repeat announcements from last week, so please give those a read.
